Saying "I do" UBC style!

08- 6-2012

All great weddings seem to begin with adventure. Think of Snow White and Cinderella who experienced their prince charming’s coming to the rescue. What about Shrek and Fiona? Sometimes the adventure is with the Father of the Bride as Steve Martin so eloquently portrayed. Julia Roberts even showed us how a wedding adventure can begin at the altar with Runaway Bride. And who can forget My Big Fat Greek Wedding – where’s the Windex!!?

It’s only fitting that Unclaimed Baggage, the home of true adventure shopping, has also been home to the start of some pretty cool wedding adventures. Recently a die-hard UBC fan sent us the following story of their UBC wedding adventure.

My husband and I have been residents of Scottsboro (proud home of UBC) our entire lives.  We share a common love/obsession with visiting UBC frequently to find our treasures.  Even the kids are hooked.  They love the shoes, I love the diamonds.

This picture represents our bond in marriage as well as our bond to Unclaimed Baggage.  Why?  Because both my engagement ring and wedding band came from the jewelry department in UBC.  Almost a year ago, the day after Valentine's Day actually, my husband proposed to me in Unclaimed Baggage with a beautiful one carat diamond solitaire engagement ring he discovered from the jewelry department while doing our usual ritual of shoe and clothing browsing.  Of course I said yes!  Although I wanted to have our wedding in the UBC store, I settled for marrying the best man I have ever met outside the walls of our fave store.

What’s your favorite example of a wedding adventure? Have you had one? If UBC had a chapel do you think you might get married in it? Hmm….
