How Unclaimed Baggage Reclaimed the Unclaimed for Good in April

At Unclaimed Baggage, we strive to do the most good with lost and forgotten items. Each year, millions of unclaimed items are sold in our Scottsboro store or online, and millions more are donated to organizations and charities in-need through our charitable foundation, Reclaimed For Good

Here are a few ways Unclaimed Baggage reclaimed the unclaimed for good throughout the month of April:

In honor of National Adopt A Shelter Pet day on April 30th, we invited local animal shelter, Second Chance Shelter, to set up shop in our Scottsboro store’s parking lot with several furry friends looking for forever homes. Out of the five pups that joined the party, four found their new families. Unclaimed Baggage and Reclaimed For Good also provided essential pet supplies to the shelter such as towels, dog food, and dog treats.

Unclaimed Baggage volunteers served the city of Scottsboro in support of a city clean-up initiative organized by the city in partnership with PALS: People Against a Littered State. The project just so happened to focus on Unclaimed Baggage’s home street, Willow Street. This dedicated group of volunteers removed over 100 bags of trash on or around Willow Street to help our city stay clean and green!

Each month, Unclaimed Baggage and Reclaimed For Good helps stock the shelves of our community food bank. Nonperishable food items and essential hygiene items are provided regularly to help those in need within our community.

If apparel or other types of merchandise don’t meet our standards to be sold, we work diligently to identify organizations who can use these items for good. Throughout April, we donated clothing, blankets, strollers, and even furniture items to organizations such as The Servants Mission Thrift Store, a second-hand store which supports The Summit Women’s Recovery Home, and Saving Way, a second-hand store which supports a men’s recovery home.
