1. What is Alabama?

That's right! Unclaimed Baggage has been in the small town of Scottsboro, Alabama since 1970. In fact, it's one of the top tourist attractions in the state welcoming over a million guests a year from all over the world!

2. What is Christie's?

Back in the 1980s, our baggage processing team received a well-worn Gucci suitcase containing ancient Egyptian artifacts, the oldest of which dating back to 1500 BC! While majority of the items were sold through Christie's, guests can learn about this fascinating find in the Unclaimed Baggage Museum located within the retail store.

3. Who is Jim Henson? 

Hoggle arrived to the Unclaimed Baggage facilities in 1997 in completely deteriorating condition. After being refurbished, Hoggle has greeted Unclaimed Baggage guests since the early 2000s and continues to reside within the Unclaimed Baggage Museum.

4. What is a Rattlesnake? (Yikes!)

Arguably the most shocking find at Unclaimed Baggage, a rattlesnake did indeed arrive to our bagging processing facilities tucked within the outside pocket of a duffel bag! Fortunately, no team members or slithery creatures were harmed (or sold).

5. What is NASA? 

This find was truly out of this world! Designed in the late 1980s, this modified Nikon F camera from NASA's Space Shuttle program was one of the earliest iterations of the digital camera. Because of its rarity, we sent this camera back to NASA after its brief visit with us!
